Energy Reading for the Lunar Month: 10 October - 8 November 2026

This month’s energy reading revolves around trust. A good point to start is to just close your eyes for a moment and consider those things that inspire trust in your life. Some may have your total trust, others partial, and others none at all. Perhaps observe beliefs surrounding trust that emerge from this thought process.

…

Most likely this reflection may have awakened a multitude of realisations and memories. Why we seek trust in our lives is an important question. Trust helps us form relationships of all kinds, and reduces stress by creating a foundation from where we can operate from a place of relative safety. Remove this sense of trust, and we are ungrounded and misaligned easily.

There are many reasons for this in each of our personal journeys, but in our current times, the overstimulation of the eyes is an important source of this imbalance. Overactive eyes symbolise heightened vigilance, hyper-awareness, and an over-engagement with the external world. This state suggests an inner belief that we must constantly watch, assess, or anticipate in order to remain safe and in control.

I was interested to know if there were any statistics around tech usage and found that research published in 2025 by the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA), “assesses that over-15s spend on average 7.5 hours a day engaged in screen-based activities.”

Because of this outward focus, we rarely turn inward to rest, integrate, or trust. The eyes become “guards,” always alert, always evaluating in a world where safety depends on constant awareness rather than trust. This has a huge implication on our nervous system. The eyes remain alert even when the body tries to rest. This reinforces patterns of fatigue, as true rest requires our eyes to soften and release their grip on constant monitoring.

Deeper still, overactive eyes can also symbolize avoidance of our inner experience. By staying visually and mentally hooked to the outside world, we may unconsciously be avoiding feeling our emotions, bodily sensations, or intuition arising within us.

If we think on a symbolic level, overactive eyes essentially reflect mistrust of life, of others, or of our own inner guidance. This suggests a belief that danger or loss will occur if attention relaxes. Healing this pattern involves building safety, grounding, and inner trust. We need to allow our perception to shift from scanning to witnessing. When we let the eyes rest, they symbolise confidence in our capacity to respond rather than constantly anticipate. This helps restore the balance between seeing, sensing, and being.

Awareness of this modern predicament is not new, but I feel it has come up this month as we enter into the darker months of winter ahead, and we can easily fall into using our screens even more. Instead, perhaps we can seek new ways to go within, ones that feel aligned to each of us and help the dark season bring a deep rest to our bodies, hearts, minds and souls.

As a starting point to healing this pattern, the stone, Golden Tiger’s Eye, came up in this reading. It is traditionally regarded as a stone of personal power, courage, and protective grounding - all useful for building our sense of trust. It is associated with our lower chakras and helps support our sense of identity, creativity, vitality, and connection to the earth. Maybe you have a little piece lying around somewhere at home, or it will cross you rpath sometime this month. Perhaps it is just what we need to start relying less on our physical eyes and more on our inner vision.
