Energy Reading for the Lunar Month: 12 August - 11 September 2026

On August 12th, the new lunar month starts with a total solar eclipse landing in Leo - the sign that in medical astrology governs the heart and circulatory system. This energy reading is short because the message is simple. It focuses on veins and clearing the past. The words plug, patience and commitment also arose, along with chamomile.

What Veins Teach Us

Veins bring blood back to the heart. Arteries push outward toward action and expansion. Veins do the quieter work: they carry what's been spent back inward for renewal.

Metaphysically, this means letting our lived experience return to center to be understood and learned from. We don't learn from doing alone, we need to process what happened - what we felt, what was difficult, what stayed with us - rather than avoiding this by doing more or repeating the same actions.

Since veins return to the heart rather than the brain, the lessons here are emotional. Self-forgiveness, emotional honesty, the capacity for tenderness toward what arose in us. That's the work.

The Plug

A plug blocks flow and causes congestion. Sometimes that's protective - we plug things because we need to survive the moment. But reflection may be called for on whether that seal has outlived its purpose.

Recognizing where we've sealed something off, and accepting the seal may no longer serve us, seems to be part of the work. This is often difficult to admit, so we reach for quick fixes instead—push harder, move faster, declare healing before it's happened.

Patience and Commitment

Two qualities support doing this work safely.

Patience. Veins rely on natural pressure and movement. Trust that experiences will surface when you're ready, rather than excavating prematurely or ‘plugging’ what arises. When emotional material returns to the heart, the instinct is to resolve it quickly to avoid discomfort. Patience resists this. It allows experiences to circulate fully, moving through anger, grief, confusion, and tenderness without skipping stages. This is the difference between genuine integration and superficial suppression dressed up as healing.

Commitment. Veins don't return blood once - it's a loop. Commitment means choosing this return repeatedly, even when the material is painful. Each time resentment, grief, or old memory surfaces, we are called to meet it at the heart rather than deflect it into distraction, numbness, or projection.

The Sun's Humble Companion

Chamomile presents itself to help. A quick search reveals it symbolizes resilience, peace, healing, rest, humility, patience, and spiritual restoration - quiet strength during hardship. This little daisy has been associated with sun worship for millennia - Ra in ancient Egypt, solar warmth in European traditions. It is a trusted and known heart-soother. In Ukrainian folklore, it carries an intergenerational quality, care passed between generations, because some of what we're clearing isn't just personal - it's inherited and in our blood.

So on the 12th…

All of this ties together with the start of the new lunar month: a solar eclipse in the sign of the heart. Light blocked and then restored. A chance to see what's in the shadow and allow it to return to our center. Patience and commitment support the clearing. Chamomile - warm, humble companion, solar, filled with ancestral love - helps soothe us.

If this reading resonates, brew a cup of chamomile on the 12th or anytime this month. Sit with whatever returns to the heart and simply let it arrive.
